I’m sure you’re all wondering how Ali got to where she is today. Here’s the scoop!

First things first – I’m Alison or Ali for short, am 30 years old, and I live in Green Bay WI. I am the 2nd of 4 children and the only girl.

Through lack of exercise and too much ice cream (a weakness) I gained way too much weight!

<—- Here I am at my heaviest! Eek!!

But in 2007 things turned around. The office started a friendly Biggest Loser competition and I joined 2 other motivated friends. Through calorie counting and a TON of walking (I couldn’t run) I trimmed 25 pounds off in 12 weeks. It was a good start and the first time ever where I both stuck to something more long-term and saw good, tangible results.

In the years since I’ve tried to be more mindful of what I eat – but with not a lot of follow-through. In 2008 I started the first of my 5K annual run/walk events at my youngest brother’s school. Summers I spend training and finger-crossing that I can beat the previous year’s time. It helps keep me on track.

I am currently maintaining a 45 pound weight loss but I still have more to go! Through trial, error, mindful eating, and more exercise I now want to stop merely thinking about losing the rest and just do it. Welcome to the 2nd half of my journey!

  6. Hello, Ali!

I nominated you for the Liebster Award. It is a fun way of calling attention to small bloggers with less than 200 subscribers or followers. If you would like to check it out, here is the link to my post with all the details:

Either way, thanks for checking it out! By the way, I always love how you put lots of pictures on your blog. Good luck with your venue search!

  7. Just stumbled upon your blog and love it. I do have a question though. A while ago I came across an article in someones blog and they had a picture of a man that was a cross country skier and as I was reading your About page it hit me. I believe the man in the picture with you is the man that was in the article. Silly question but did that man in your picture compete in some sort of winter games or maybe olympics? Anyways, don’t mean to come off as some weirdo but some people have faces that stick with you.

    • Hi Sherri – I’m so glad you found me! My youngest brother Alex competed for the USA in the Special Olympic Winter Games in South Korea earlier this year. I posted all kinds of recaps, which you can search for in the blog. It was quite the family experience!!

  8. How can I contact you ? Do you have an email? I have something to ask you. It’s about a link up 🙂
