Easter 2013

Ahhh Easter. I love family holidays. If only Easter was on a weekday so we could get a day off of work! πŸ˜‰

Since Matt’s birthday was the day before Easter and had so many pics that it warranted its own post, I’m recapping Easter today.

We had a packed schedule of activities so we got started much earlier than usual for a Sunday. Since we didn’t have to worry about long waits and massive crowds at 7am, we decided to eat at Ihop

I got the very indulgent caramel banana pancakes. Fantastic! I really loved the bits of fresh banana on top. They were served along with my usual eggs-over-hard and hashbrowns.

The service was speedy and all the waitstaff had on bunny ears. lol

After quick grocery shopping, we split ways so I could meet up with my folks for church and Ben could be with his family.

A few hours later we regrouped at home and headed back over to my folks… Encountering a flash blizzard on the way! When we first started driving there was maybe a flake or two, but by the time we arrived it was blowing like crazy and the snow was pounding down. Nooooo!

There was more karaoke fun and then we played some games around the kitchen table.

Snacks and pretty Easter flowers were abundant

Mayo-free deviled eggs (out of this world!)

Dinner was the most amazing organic ham, leftover hot chicken salad, a huge bowl of whipped sweet potatoes, green beans, and lemon squares.

My plate of deliciousness:

The folks have been taking Hailey (their dog) to the dog park down the road. She loves it there and it’s been good for her to be able to burn off some of her excess energy. She still had enough left to nuzzle my lap under the table in the hopes some morsel would fall her way. Silly dog. πŸ™‚

It was a wonderful day! We got home with plenty of time to whip a few loads of clothes through the laundry and were all set for the week. Now we have to wait all the way until the end of May for the next family event – my Dad’s birthday.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter no matter what you were doing!!!
