Moving and Shaking

Ben’s officially moved!

It was a crazy/busy weekend and we were so fortunate that we took a lot of the lighter furniture the weekend before. It saved us a lot of time and we got everything packed up in one load.

Rather than rent a small trailer like last week, we picked up a big moving truck for the morning. It was Ben’s first time driving one of those and he was a pro!

The driving pro!

After picking up the truck, we got back just as all our helpers arrived. Ben has helped tons of people move so it was nice he was able to get some of them to help him too.

We got everything loaded and unloaded in just over 2 hours. Speedy! Ben and I were flying around directing people on what needed to be loaded first for the apartment and what should be loaded last for storage.

Ben’s mom came with snacks and helped us start wiping out the kitchen cabinets

Moving snacks!

Everyone left around noon and then we surveyed the situation. Boxes absolutely everywhere! We put Ben’s bed and desk back together and got his room organized. We loaded up some things to take to my parent’s as well as more storage unit items.

Mom and Dad had us over for tacos so we didn’t need to worry about getting dinner that night.

Mmmm tacos!

Mom went all out and made a gluten-free organic strawberry pie! What made it more impressive was that it didn’t use Jell-o in it (you do know what’s in Jell-o, right?) and used a natural thickener instead. It was wonderful.

It wasn’t super-sweet either because Mom didn’t add any extra sugar to the filling.

Yesterday Ben went over to mow the lawn for the last time

I also have the final pictures of my flowers and shrubs that I’ll post later this week.

Tonight Ben signs the paperwork and he closes on Friday. We have some trash that will get put on the curb tomorrow night and some misc stuff to sort through. Not much left though. It looks pretty odd wandering through an almost-empty house!

In very sad news, my Internet is not cooperating. We have a technician coming on Wed to take a peek because our packet loss is over 35% and the signal isn’t very good. It took me over an hour just to get this post written! Argh!!

In good news, my car appears to be fixed! No issues so far! 🙂
